Brief update -   We are still working furiously behind the scenes to make this happen, and we think we have secured a sponsorship for one of the European Stove manufactures  so hopefully we will be able to add that to the total soon.   We have also managed to collect quite  a few "offline"  donations. 

Our tins in the local pub have also been collected but we need to count that up , once counted that will deserve a sperate  update on the blog

Well A3 & A4 posters have been designed and printed along with about 250 A5 flyers we need to start getting these out and about so as to try and gain funding .

How do we get corperate funding, £250 or £500 from a Company which is VAT offsettable is not that much to ask for,  in exchange we will ensure that there LOGO or art work (if they want)  on the car.... the more a company pay's  the bigger the LOGO.....

Well its taken time but I can see that the you caring page is now fully up and running,  if our supports donate through this we will recieve the funds directly.

New Team Name - New Logo

As title says  we have moved away from "Twatts for Mutts" and decided on a new name and have manged to get some posters and art work created. :

We have also re-work who we are supporting, this is mainly because we want to be seen not only supporting the animals in Crete but to help companies support us we need to help UK charities as well.

As people who know me may or may not know, my Aunt and Cousin both have Type 1 Diabetes, and possible my mother also passed on due to undiagnosed Diabetes.   So we are aslo help by supporting Diabetes UK

TEAM NAME

T.W.A.T.S. 4 Mutts something I came up with on the spur of the moment about 4 weeks ago when we decided to go ahead a do a banger rally.  T.W.A.T.s  stands for Tracee Walton Animal Transport Solutions. This hsitory as I understand it was that after a trip from UK to Crete our friends husband decided to print up some T-Shirts with TWATS on it because Tracee got lost somewhere in the Alps. Another reason I picked the TWATS for MUTTS is that recently Jon Walton's dog Amber was murdered, by poision and it seemed a fitting tribute. Hence using the background picture of Amber :

One thing that is bothering me at the moment is the Team name,  Elaine mentioned it to someone today and they said that TWAT was a bit offensive.  If you type TWAT into google you get :

My thought on this will we struggle to get sponsorship with a team name that has a dictionary definition of woman's genitals.

So before we start to draw up marketing posters and before we get to the point of no return I think that the Team name need to change or alter slightly or a lot.

Progress slowing a bit

Been busy over the last week and haven't had much time to look more at this, the  next step is to start getting the marketing media produced and look for sponsership for the trip and for the fund.


We have already spoken to a few people we know and they be willing to donate/sponsor us.

We also need to work out "What" a sponor gets..what does £10 get you what does £100 get you etc....

Hopefully get time to do some graphics this week.

So many Rallys

Looking more at the Rallies and also signed up to some of the face-book groups,  first impressing on  the fireball rally is "is it a banger rally" with post like :

We liked the idea of the destination but I have the fear that as they don't have a limit on cost of car they will attract amateur teams with rolling support crews and £10,000 of gear.

When I did the 4x4 offloading the hobby was the same, some peoples ideas of shoestring budget are just silly, but then again if for the offroad you could afford a brand new 4x4 just to tow a custom built Bowler about it;s not lo-cost.


We want to do this for the animals and have fun not blow £10k on motor sport, we don't own a garage franchise and are not using it as a marketing gimmick.


So back to drawing board.

We are looking for a rally Mid 2016 with a limit on cost of Vehicle that can be entered, starting north Europe or UK and lasting 4-6 day so we can get back to UK in 10-14.
